Welcome to our blog…
There is a great story behind how our blog got the nickname, “2 Suits, no Tats, all business” that will help you understand what we, and our blog, is all about.
It all started when we had just finished giving a speech to the Washington Restaurant Association board of Directors. We were hanging out in the parking lot after our speech when one of the board members, Janet Lightner, co-founder and General Manager of Boundary Bay Brewing Company in Bellingham, WA., came up to tell us how much she enjoyed our speech. She said, “When I heard we were going to be learning about Social Media and how it could be used to help us, as executives, improve our businesses, I was expecting a couple of 35 year old guys, wearing t-shirts, with tattoos and talking in a language I wouldn’t understand. Instead, what we got were two guys older than 35 that were in suits and ties, no tattoos and talked in a language I could understand – business.”
We felt this was so “spot on” for what we are all about that we couldn’t have told you about us any better than what Janet said. So we used her phrase to help us capture the essence of what Blaine and Clay are all about – two business savvy guys that are evangelists and passionate about helping businesses of all sizes and industries leverage the power of the “Social Media Tsunami” that is in front of us today.
This blog is all about helping anyone who wants to be a part of leading this Social Media Revolution. We are going to offer anything and everything we can find that we feel will help our readers to “Learn, Live and Lead” in this Revolution. This is the most significant change in the way businesses can increase market share, differentiation, customer loyalty and ultimately revenues and if we can help you get any or all of these, we will consider this a victory!
So we hope you will follow our “ranting and raving” over Social Media and participate in our passion and our evangelism. We are living it ourselves and sharing our learning’s, insights and thoughts with hundreds and thousands of others – we hope you will join us in our journey.
